(Topic 1st: Starhenge Peace Garden)
In 1984, Grand Gongmaster Don Conreaux, invited by the then President of Slovenia (who was also an international Gong Master), participated in that year’s United Nations General Assembly. There, he began sharing his vision of the World Peace Starhenge Garden and the Gong Consciousness Awakening Ceremony with representatives of all nations—a ceremonial initiative to celebrate the arrival of global peace and happiness. This was inspired by the Chinese Tai Lai Gong (泰来锣), which symbolizes the turning point from adversity to great fortune—the First Day of World Gong Peace.
This interstellar art concept began to spread globally starting in 2014.
It originated with a “Gonging and Singing for Humanity” concert held in California, designed to awaken a prophetic vision of a new era of universal peace and functional harmony for all humankind.
As Robert Muller, former UN official and founder of the University for Peace, wrote in his book The New Genesis:
“When people all around the Earth join hands, give thanks for life and breath, and hear the gongs and bells of peace resound across the planet, the First Day of World Peace will have arrived.”
The World Peace Starhenge Garden is inspired by planetary art as the basis for its design science. It offers people a space to experience holistic mind-body resonance within a garden of powerful sound waves. Each circle of stones is designed to resonate and connect with other sacred Peace Starhenges around the world.
All World Peace Starhenge Gardens can be interconnected through sacred geometry and linear directional alignments. Some may be harmonized through tuning and sonic navigation in the central area. Many sacred sites across the world naturally exhibit acoustic resonance phenomena; in ancient times, stone circles like Stonehenge were often constructed as permanent resonant choirs.
Structure of the Starhenge
Starhenge is composed of concentric rings, each representing different calendar systems and cultural symbols from around the world.
There are primary and secondary rings, and all rings share equal width rather than equal diameter—each nested within the next. Starting from the center, the primary rings are as follows:
- First Ring (innermost): The 8 cardinal and intercardinal directions (geographical compass points)
- Second Ring: The 12 signs of the Western Zodiac
- Third Ring: 24 Norse Rune Stones
- Fourth Ring: The 64 Hexagrams of the I Ching
- Fifth Ring: A 360-degree compass, marked every 5 degrees for a total of 72 "petal points" (linear alignments)
- Sixth Ring: 360 Sabian Symbols, based on the zodiacal degrees
Additional concentric rings may incorporate cultural calendars and divination systems such as those from:
- Native American traditions
- Hindu cosmology
- Celtic Druidic systems
- The Maya calendar
- Solar and lunar cycle symbols
For traditions with variable yearly systems—like the Chinese zodiac or the Mayan Tzolk'in—movable wooden stakesmay be preferred, allowing annual repositioning. The design is fully customizable in terms of ring number, symbol system, and cultural layering.
Building Materials and Scale: How Large Should a Starhenge Be?
- As large as possible
- Any size that suits the builder’s available space, budget, maintenance ability, or time
- Minimum footprint: 10 feet x 10 feet (approx. 3m x 3m)
- Recommended diameter: 20 meters (approx. 65 feet)
Simplified Instructions for Building a Starhenge Peace Garden:
- Find the center of your available space. Mark it and place a central marker.
- Determine true north.
- Identify the four cardinal directions (North, South, East, West), and mark them with string or rope stretched across the center.
- Calculate the distance of each ring from the center.
- Use a measuring tape to mark these radii from the center point.
- Walk the radius, using string or tape to mark each circular path or ring.
- Draw the concentric circles for each ring.
- Using the outermost ring, calculate its circumference:
- Formula: Circumference = 2 × π × Radius
- Divide the circumference by the number of placements in the ring to find the distance between each marker.
- For example, if placing 24 runes in the outer ring:
- 360° ÷ 24 = 15° spacing per rune
- If the ring has a 30-foot diameter, then:
- Circumference = 2 × 3.14159 × 15 (radius) = 94.25 feet
- 94.25 ÷ 24 = 3.93 feet between each rune
In another example with a 30-foot diameter:
Circumference = 2 × π × 30 = 188.5 feet
188.5 ÷ 24 = 7.85 feet between each rune on the circle
